| Geo Geo was a brand of small sporty economy cars and SUVs marketed by General Motors and sold through Chevrolet dealerships throughout the United States beginning in 1989, and in Canada beginning in 1992. GM's Geo line was an inexpensive brand of starter automobiles intended to answer the growing competition from imports. Geo automobiles were manufactured in joint-ventures with GM and Japanese import manufacturers. The Prizm was produced at the GM/Toyota joint-venture NUMMI assembly plant in Fremont, California. The Metro and Tracker models were produced at the GM/Suzuki joint-venture CAMI assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. The exceptions were the Spectrum and Storm, which were entirely manufactured by Isuzu in Japan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_(automobile) |
