| Ferrari
Founded in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari in Maranello, this Italian automaker has been an accomplished leader in automotive design, performance and innovation which has pushed and nurtured its growth to become a dominant factor in motor racing and production autos, more reasonably termed, "supercars". In 1939 Ferrari left his position as the official Alfa Romeo driver and built his first car under the name of Auto Avio Costruzioni in 1940. Despite the war, Ferrari held to his dream of becoming a racing car manufacturer. After the war he immediately began work on the first car to bear his name, the 125 S, which debuted in 1947. The legend that is Ferrari had begun.
