| Fargo Trucks Info From 1913 through 1922, the Fargo Motor Car Company of Chicago marketed a line of Fargo trucks. Later, in the 1928 model year, with Plymouth and DeSoto doing well, the new Chrysler Corporation created the Fargo Motor Corporation to build and sell commercial trucks. Fargo immediately began producing two full lines of commercial vehicles. Both used a mixture of Plymouth, DeSoto and Chrysler parts. The Fargo seemed doomed from the start, despite an impressive array of models offered, from light express/delivery vehicles to heavy trucks and semi-tractors. Chrysler purchased Dodge Brothers almost immediately after creating Fargo, and with Dodge Brothers came its exclusive contract to make and market Graham Brothers Trucks. Chrysler discontinued the Graham Brothers marquee since they had previously resigned and were starting a new car company. Fargo may have continued on if it wern't for the great depression, but in 1937 the Fargo nameplate was delegated to Canadian manufactured trucks and for use on exports. http://www.allpar.com/old/fargo.html |
