Walter P. Chrysler formed the Chrysler Motor Corporation in 1925 to handle sales of the Chrysler Model B, which had previously been introduced at the New York Auto Show in 1923. Chrysler acquired Dodge Brothers and created Plymouth. Eventually, Chrysler bought the AMC assets and kept the Jeep brand. Chrysler also introduced the ill-fated Eagle brand. Chrysler merged with Daimler to form DaimlerChrysler in 1997 and was resold to American Investors in 2007.
