Chevrolet (aka: Chevy) is GM's top selling automaker brand. Chevrolet was co-founded by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant. Louis Chevrolet was a Swiss race-car driver who had raced Buicks for Durant when he headed Buick. Durant, founder of General Motors, had been forced out of GM in 1910 and needed Louis Chevrolet's designs to rebuild his auto industry reputation. On November 3, 1911, Chevrolet entered the automobile market to compete with Ford's Model T. A year later, Chevrolet introduced a more advanced Chevrolet "Classic Six".
